1. What is different about MBRCLD?

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is a firm believer of developing people and the Center holds his values and leadership teachings in the highest regard. The Center’s programs are highly experiential as it believes that experience is the best teacher

2. Is the new competency model of the Center comparable to the previous competency model of the Center?

Yes. The Center believes in continuous progression and the new competency model was mapped with the previous competency model to allow a continued and seamless transition for graduates to the newly designed programming.

4. Where will the programs take place?

The programs will be held in luxury hotel venues in Dubai with a potential of an international trip in some programs

5. What is the duration of the various leadership programs at the Center?

They range from 9 months to 18 months depending on the specific program.

6. What kind of services does the Center provide for graduates?

The Centre will provide a range of services that are both bespoke to the individual graduates in specific program and networking opportunities that are exceptional in their mode of delivery.

7. Will the Center provide e-learning offerings?

The Centre will be providing the most cutting edge methodologies within its programs; e-learning is only of these methodologies.

1. What is the Impactful Leaders Program all about?

It is the vision of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development to create leaders for tomorrow’s world. To achieve this vision, the Center is launching its flagship program first. This program is designed to be an avant-garde experience that challenges leaders to move outside their comfort zone. It is a journey rather than an event, which will leave the participants being more effective at the end of the program. The curriculum is based on the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Competency Model and is delivered by a consortium of the world’s leading providers of executive education. The modules of the program have been carefully curated and contextualized to be readily applicable to the local context.

2. What are the minimum requirements for entry onto the program?

It is mandatory that applicants hold UAE national citizenship for entry into the program and they must also:

  • Visionary and an achiever of that vision
  • Decision maker and plays a key role in developing your organization’s strategy
  • Responsible for the main outputs of your organization
  • Leads a successful team

3. What qualities are we looking for?

You need to have real ambition, a genuine impact career so far and a self-motivated, proactive approach. You’ll need to be a clear, effective leader and team player who can work across boundaries and quickly build a rapport with a wide range of people. Just as important is the ability to adapt to change and stay focused when the pressure is on. While you’ll have the drive and confidence to trust your own gut, you’ll also be a team player who enjoys working with others. Not least, you’ll need to demonstrate global citizenship, curiosity, agility and the ability to create value.

4. What is the time commitment that participants have to make in order to get the most value out of this leadership development experience?

In order for a participant and his/her fellow learners get the greatest value out of this experience, participants will need to commit to attending all the modules and completing all the assignments. This will include approximately 8 days of class room training and 14 days of experiential / project based training spread over a period of 12-15 months with a break for Ramadan.

5. What is the MBRCLD’s approach to inclusion and diversity?

We aim to create an inclusive program to attract and develop the most talented people in the UAE.

6. Where will Impactful Leaders Program be implemented?

You’ll be based in Dubai for the duration of the program doing your day job. Travel for modules will not exceed two weeks over the entire program.

7. What kind of training can be expected as part of the program?

We offer a rich variety of training, development, mentoring and coaching to help boost leadership abilities. Training is based on the 70/20/10 approach: 70% on-the-job training, 20% learning through mentoring, coaching and feedback, and 10% via formal training courses. A majority of the learning in the program will be linked to a current challenge each participant is facing in their day job.

8. When does registration open for the Impactful Leaders program?

Application for the program opens on the 21th of September 2019 at www.mbrcld.ae and will close on 20th October 2019.

9. What does the application process involve?

The application process involves registering on the website, completing a detailed form online and taking a gamified assessment. As part of the application process you will receive a report that will help you make more informed career choices as you move forward. Selected applicants will move forward to the assessment stage. The candidates will then be invited to attend an assessment center that will last between 4-5 hours. A final shortlist will then be invited to enroll (maximum of 35 participants), complete some pre-work and participate in the program.

10. How long does it take to complete the registration process take?

It is our estimate that the form will take between 45-60 minutes to complete. The gamified assessment will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

11. I have completed the application form but not finished the gamified assessment. What should I do?

Please ensure you finish both the application form and the gamified assessment. Your registration is only complete when you have completed both parts in full. We will not be in a position to consider incomplete applications.

12. I’m having problems submitting my application form online. What should I do?

13. I have a disability / long-term health condition, should I include this on my application form?

MBRCLD welcomes applications from suitable candidates from all backgrounds. We do not require that candidates with disabilities / long-term health conditions disclose this to us. However we recommend you inform us at the application stage of any required support or reasonable adaptations you need during the recruitment and selection process.

14. When will participants hear of the results of their application?

Participants will hear from us be email regarding the outcome of their application by the first week of November 2019.

15. Can I retake the online test?

Sorry, no. In order to be fair to everyone, we don’t offer retakes.

17. If unsuccessful, can I apply again?

Yes, you can apply for the Impactful Leaders Program again the following year. You many also consider applying to other programs that are offered by the MBRCLD.

18. I applied for the Impactful Leaders Program, but haven’t heard anything. Can you help?
